Refugee who killed two on German train stabbed ‘cut woman’s throat’ days after release

TWO people have been killed in a frenzied knife attack by a refugee who had been released from prison just days ago.

A woman had her throat slit when the 33-year-old suspect began attacking passengers on a train in Germany with terrified victims being chased through carriages.

A massive police and emergency services operation was launched in the town of Brokstedt, 30 miles north of Hamburg.

An eyewitness said he saw traces of blood on several carriages after the attack, which happened at 15:00 local time.

The interior minister of the German state of Schleswig-Holstein, Sabine Sutterlin-Waack, said the attacker was a stateless Palestinian who was in prison until a few days ago.

“It’s really terrible. We’re really shocked and appalled that something like this happened,” he said.

Sources of the research team he told the NDR television network that the man, who came from Gaza eight years ago, had a criminal past.
