In Cape Girardeau, Missouri, Whitney Thomas replaces Max Media’s River Radio Country “K103.1” KEZS Morning. She takes over for veteran KEZS morning host Kent Crider. Additionally, River Radio’s six-station Cape Girardeau/Sikeston cluster’s afternoon presenter Rachel Cook is moving up to OM. Cook continues to serve as the program director for the movement KGIR-AM and the adult hit “93.9 Mike FM” KGKS (1220).
According to PD Glenn Johnson in a release, “If anyone could take on this challenge, it would be Whitney.” “The variety of abilities she brings to the table complements her energy and capacity to connect with her audience. She is a seasoned local talent that is familiar with our community since she actively participates in it. She is Media’s sister if she were more likeable because she is socially astute.
“Rachel’s commitment to local broadcast and the ever-evolving multimedia world in which we operate will assist lead our station’s programming efforts and create more possibilities for our customers to meet their marketing goals,” General Manager Mike Renick said in reference to Cook.
